....must..... beat...... Bogger..... building..... this.... unloved..... kit......
Bought this one last summer with a 40% off coupon at Michaels. Had to battle Revell to get the right front seats. The interior pan and door panels were correct in the kit, but they sent me the updated pack anyway. They make you circle the parts you need on the instruction sheet, then send you the pack anyway. The seat back for the rear seat still has the '67 pattern, but I think that I may be able to fix that.
On to the build. Paint is "code N", Diamond Blue (later called Pastel Blue) from a color matched rattle can. My local 1:1 paint store is somewhat amused that I buy model paint there. It is some kind of enamel, probably water-based since I live in the Kapital of Kaliforn-ya. It lays down nicely if it isn't too humid/raining outside. Tamiya clear over the top. A little Scratch-X polishing, and it looks better than the two 1:1 Mustangs we had that were that color.
Interior is Valspar satin indigo and MM Pontiac engine blue with dullcoat over the top. Carpet is dark blue embossing powder with clear flat over it.
I stopped by the 1/25 scale machine shop and picked up the engine today, and the 1/25 scale upholstery shop to get the front seats and dash. Gas out here is getting expensive, even in 1/25 scale. I can hardly afford to feed the 454 in the dually any more. The Perry's Resin S-10 had better get here soon....
Anyway, I wasn't going to post pics of this until it was done, but with Tony building one and being encouraged to have a blue interior, I didn't want to seem like a copycat. I know he will beat me to the finish line because I don't get as much building time as I would like.
